Which is Topic Sentence and Which is Main Idea?

The sentences below are one paragraph. What is the main idea and what is the topic sentence? By the way, I believe it is possible for a topic sentence and main idea to be the same, but not sure of this.

It is often believed that the advent of digital technology has a profound impact on the daily routines of individuals who engage with new software and the communities where such technology is prevalent.

For instance, it has been posited that the rise of remote work has extracted many from traditional office environments, thereby significantly modifying their role in the professional domain.

In the early twenty-first century, when telecommuting started to gain traction, Thomas Friedman, an American journalist, cautioned that by doing so, individuals might lose valuable interpersonal skills.

Sherry Turkle, on the other hand, anticipated that people would find new forms of community and personal identity in the “digital realm,” facilitated by the connectivity that allows the integration of “diverse workforces” into the global job market.

Commentators have been divided on the cultural benefits of this digital shift, yet there is consensus that it has irrevocably changed the way we conceive of work and career paths.

Last sentence is the main idea.
I think, the main topic is the effect/impact of technology on people.

I agree. But the answer is the first sentence. The last sentence covers the two examples with word commentators. And hits the topic Sentence. And has authors opinion.

Is the first sentence also the main idea?

You can only pick one.
