I’m planning MS in Fall 2022, which month plan should i opt for?

I haven’t shortlisted my universities because I thought to give GRE first and then shortlist depending on the score. Is it an ideal way? What is the safest time like the earliest to give GRE or at what month most people give GRE if they are planning for fall?

Falls admission for university open as early as in August and some have deadlines in mid-December. So, ideal case scenario is to give GRE in-between april-may so that you can have adequate time for a re-take as well as for the application process.
