Which strategy should we work on this question?

I need the strategy to attempt the question in a timed situation.

It would have been disingenuous of the candidate to appear_____when her opponent won the election, but she congratulated the victor nonetheless.

(A) gracious
(B) ecstatic
© crestfallen
(D) indifferent
(E) euphoric
(F) disgruntled

The two pairs will be (B,E) and (C,F)

Now, the question can be restated as:
It would be lying if the candidate appeared __________ when her opponent won the election.

So the answer should be happy.

Therefore, ecstatic and euphoric.

C and F aren’t synonyms - “crestfallen” means sad, and “disgruntled” means annoyed.

So, you only have one option here

Which Greg’s strategy do you guys think will be useful here?

I did not get this one, so after looking at the options, I was confused between B and C.
I will mark C because “cruel” is a very strong word.
Can you please tell the answer?

C is the right option. Option B is wrong because of effortlessness.

Virtue -> antonym -> wicked
Lack the energy -> synonym -> indolence (laziness)

“Effortless” does not match with any other words or phrases in the passage, while “indolence” does.
