Why can't I use although as a contrast here? Is it because a contrast already exists?

Yep, it’s because ‘although’ is already contrasting the two ideas “few rock musicians are willing” and “boost sales very nicely”. The logic checks out, but it doesn’t help with the blank. So the math strategy doesn’t work here.

So that means I have to use laugh for the blank or prob some other term similar to laugh?

Yep, you can just reuse “laugh at themselves”

Cool. Thanks

Also where can I find examples for such questions? Like are they a part of the TC session 1?

For me the story is that the author is saying not many rock musicians want to laugh at themselves, but maybe if they laugh at themselves a little, perhaps their sales would increase.

Choice [A] fits this logic and matches the story.

Ahhh okay!
