Why can't the answer be 'A' to ques 20?

Meaning of euphoric from google :
“characterized by or feeling intense excitement and happiness.”

In the first line of second paragraph, exciting word is used to describe the theory. Euphoric , as per google refers to a feeling to intense excitement.

Why can’t the answer be A then ?

Hello,

Here are the reasons why you can eliminate euphoric.

  1. The word is too extreme or intense to stylistically fit the context. Euphoric implies overwhelming personal joy, almost like an emotional high. Example: The crowd was euphoric after the underdog team’s last-minute victory. Therefore the word euphoric is out of place in a research-oriented discussion.
  2. In research writing, the language is formal and reserved as scientists choose words that sound measured and objective, not overly emotional or dramatic.
  3. In research discussions, euphoric would almost never appear in the body of a formal article, but it might fit in peripheral or personal contexts where the tone is less formal and the emotion is part of the story. Example: The researchers were euphoric after their rover successfully landed on Mars.

Hope this helps.
