The question reads, “In the year 2000, the population of a certain town was 600,000. Each year after for two years, the population increased by 100,000.” The wording, “each year after for two years,” is pretty confusing to me. Is 100,000 the annual or total increase by the year 2002? Although the answer treats it as annual, I still find it ambiguous.
It says “each year”?
Yeah. But I’m not convinced by the wording. I was wondering if the GRE/ETS would write this kind of question.
This question looks just fine to me, but I’ll ping @gregmat to see if he thinks differently.

I can see how it’s a bit confusing. OP, how would you word it?

I would reword it: “The population increased by 100,000 each year/annually for the next two years.”
Sure, we’ll change it.
