45-45-90 triangle, simplification

Hi, so when dealing with 45-45-90 triangle two sides are x and the hypothenuse is x square root of 2. See the example from prepswift where the hypothenuse is 8 so the other side is 8 / square root of 2.

I saw a video of khan academy in which they said in math we don’t like square roots in the nominator. Thus they would multiple by square root of 2 / square root of 2.

so: 8 / square root of 2 multiplied by sq root of 2 / sq root of 2
8 . sq root of 2 / sq root of 2 . sq root of 2
8 . sq root of 2 / 2 = 4 . sq root of 2

Would it be correct to take those above three steps I mentioned?

Yes.

Please use mathematical notation (ANNOUNCEMENT: Math Support in Posts), and tell us the name of the PrepSwift video you are referring to (so that I can check as appropriate).

Sorry forgot the pic. The video is called 45-45-90 triangles, last example at the end of the video.
