I couldn’t understand the relationship between the belief that world was expressly designed for humanity and the lost certainty in astrology.
I did understand that they no longer were convinced by the belief. Couldn’t find a logic for how that would affect the second idea. But then because of the word “lost” certainty and “intellectual” I made a semantic guess as Intellectual “reasoning”. Since the right answer is B. It seems that the world being expressly desgined for humanity and astrology are two aspect of the same idea i.e the two ideas are not contrasting but supporting each other. Am I right? I’m still not able to find the evidence for Sustained. If sustained is correct then satisfied and reassured should also be correct. Right? Which strategy works best here. I tried Math strategy but that didn’t work coz I couldn’t point to whether the 2 ideas we supporting or contrasting each other
Yeah but you need to think about the second blank too. In big book questions multiple answers can be correct for a blank, since the answers are paired together unlike the real test.
Okay. So now that we know Satisfied, sustained and reassured can all be a good fit, what should be the logic for second blank.
Justifications and reasons seemed good to me coz of the words “Lost Certainty in astrology”. So basically they are trying to make astrology justifiable now that they don’t have belief in the first idea.
But if “Substitutes” is right it means they have lost belief in both astrology and the first idea and they want a substitute for both. So how do we narrow down to one choice?
Okay. So I was wrong to think that Astrology and Mysticism are not the same as “the world around us was expressly designed for humanity”.
Thanks. This was helpful
