My guess before reading the options were:
B1 =>
connotation: a positive word
semantics: satisfied
B2 =>
connotation: a neutral word
semantics: reasons
Upon reading the options, D and E were eliminated based on connotation and I was left with A B and C
However, A and C sounded very similar and hence i chose B by elimination.
My question is, given the context of the sentence, “reasons” and “substitutes” both fit the blank. Given this is the case, is such a type of problem possible in today’s style of GRE?
